Charné and I have had church planting on our hearts for a number of years and have earnestly been seeking God on where and when to plant. In the heart of Covid in 2020, we felt called to start Adventure Church in Tinley Manor, Kwa-Zulu Natal. In January of 2021, along with our daughters Cayla and Libby, we moved from our home in Johannesburg and arrived at Palm Lakes Estate in Tinley Manor. The journey began with Sunday meetings as a family, to envision our daughters and to pray into God’s will for Adventure Church. On 8 August, 2021, Adventure Church had its very first public meeting.Â
The definition of a pioneer is ‘a person who is among the first to explore or settle a new country or area’, or ‘a person who begins or helps develop something new and prepares the way for others to follow’. This has been a pioneering journey of faith. God has been so generous with us throughout the process and often reminds us that it is He who builds His church. We have experienced divinely orchestrated meetings; strategic encounters; and seemingly coincidental opportunities where The Father has revealed His love and favour over this ‘Adventure’. Even though we are merely in the infancy stages of this church plant, we know our role is just to be faithful with the mandate entrusted to us, Jesus does the rest. We have an incredible passion for The Father Heart of God and we love to see people truly grasp their identity in Him and walk into the fullness of their calling. We are trusting that we at Adventure Church will see people get saved, the broken get healed, the hurting get restored and for The Kingdom of Heaven to be established.Â

Our call is an adventure, our relationship with Jesus is an adventure, church life is an adventure. We are excited to see this journey unfold through Adventure Church.

We believe that God is building a base church in Tinley manor; that Adventure Church will be an equipping and sending church to bless families in nations around the globe.

We believe that God has called us, as Adventure Church, to facilitate believers in understanding their identity in Christ and walking into the fullness of their calling and purpose through intimate fellowship with The Father. Jesus died on the cross so that fellowship with The Father could be restored.
